I had no problems downloading the Patch, took quite a while, didn't notice it took to long, Patched in smoothly, had no problems atall installing, logging in e.t.c. graphics are sweet as *****. I've been running Classic on my LT so i've not seen the premium graphics until Apoc (apart from the beta on SiSi :P).
My LT has a really crappy GFX card (intel 945GM) so my FPS has always been really low, i'm cool with that as i'm getting a new comp in a few weeks w/ Geforce 9600GT. Noticed a bit of an FPS hit on the new client tho, to be expected as allot of the rendering(?) has been shifted to the GPU iirc.
Skill Que is Ace, using it really helps take the weight of 'skill chasing' and give me ample room to slow my head down and plan thing out smoother.
The new Jump gate effect/sound effect is AMAZING! The warp effect is gorgeous to, i love the blue/redshift, Although having to turn things down to low spec means it looks pretty dry, which is a definate con, yet im not one to moan about not being able to have your cake and eat it, "u want GFX quality? or performance quality? - take yer pic, does what it says on the tin."
The Fitting Screen is really cool, i have to admit it puts a notable hit on fps and i tend to lag allot more in stations, but again, its not life/death situation so who's complaining? The fitting manager is really handy and i'm already putting it to good use. One possible add-on to this is being able to right click the modules in a saved fitting profile and 'view market details'. That'd make it *****in awesome. Also the mini screen in the fitting window is a groovy addition for sure, I'm enjoying getting a real closeup of all the ships n sheit.
The Scan interface and new scanning equipment in my opinion is really intuitive, easy to pick up and definitely a really fun 'mini game' type of thing. To those people that are flaming it, put in a bit of basic lateral thinking and try out or perception based IQ for size. I've already found a number of sights, including 2 wormholes! and OMG aren't they beautiful! Worm holes space is equally ominous and the sleepers are very intelligent, to the degree their quite Eire, almost like your facing off with some form of primitive life within the machine. Funny thing happened to me, i logged off while in WH space, logged back on to find the WH had collapsed so had to find a new way out, which i did, only to find i was ALL the way over the other side of empire. So i took the opportunity to speak to the 'locals' form round their and put together a slap dash fleet to clear out the rest of the sights in WH space.
All in all, apart from a few minor hiccups an AMAZING and highly enjoyable new addition to what is by far the best thing to hit the internet since... well... the internet
well done CCP
(on a side note, is it just me or does it seem as though the average player in eve comes across as a highly demanding perfectionist, flaming that their uberwtf1337bbqpwng computer has lost 20 of its 1000+ frame rate and the sounds not quite up to their exacting standard emorage ass hats, completely disregarding the IMMENSE amount of work that actually goes into programming and maintaining such an incredibly big game)
